Atebara Chips - (717 Manono Street Hilo, HI 96720) Hawaii's first chips since 1936. Their entire line of gourmet products is handmade and hand packaged in their Hilo factory where chips, cookies, candies and more are made fresh daily.
Be on the look out for the small banner on the side of the house.
Go around the side of the house to the little entrance to the shop. It feels like walking up to someone's home and checking to see if aunty made chips today.
First thing to do when you go in is indulge in some of the free samples. They have all kinds of sweet Potato chips. From delicious Furikake, Ginger/Garlic, Yellow Sweet Potato, and Sriracha flavors. With a variety of size bags to choose from.
So much to choose from! We ended up buying a bunch to bring back home for friends and family. Aside from the awesome chips they do have cookies, handmade chocolates, and gift baskets for sale also.
